Ljubljana was given the opportunity to host the 14th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists. A number of topical themes were covered and professional excursions were arranged for attendees. The organisers of the congress – The Biotechnical Faculty at the University of Ljubljana and the Slovenian Association of Agricultural Economists – were seeking a professional organiser of congresses to meet the requirements of the event. In addition, the challenge was how to make the most of the opportunity of the congress to promote Slovenian agriculture and rural areas.

Toleranca Marketing agency is certified as a PCO (Professional Congress Organiser) as part of the process of standardisation by the Slovenian Convention Bureau. For our client, the Slovenian Association of Agricultural Economists, we organised the entire bidding and execution phases of the congress. In the first phase we prepared a bid and a feasibility study for the congress; in the preparation phase we handled communication with target groups, the registration process, co-ordination of sub-contractors, consulting and project management. We also handled the entire logistics of the congress. More than 700 attendees from over 40 countries attended the event.
